Eros International, the film production company, has signed an agreement with Chinese Film Corporation, which is a state-backed company.
Under the deal, the film companies will be co-producing movies such as Da Tang XuanZang (Monk XuanZang), which is based on the life of Xuan Zang’s 17-year visit to India during the sixth century. Amitabh Bacchan from India and Huang Xiaoming from China are expected to be cast in the film.
Another film, called Kung Fu Yoga, is already being made as part of an India-China collaboration and stars Jackie Chan. This project is based on the partnership between together Viacom18 Motion Pictures India and China’s Taihe Entertainment Corporation and Shinework Media, according to Hollywood Reporter.
